TOURISM by Ozono Travel
As there are so many definitions, categories and subcategories for the so called Academic and Business Tourism, we have decided since our first incursion on the field to choose what we believe represents better the quintessential sense of it: The Academic and Business Trip itself. It allows us to focus only on building the industry around the Academic and Business providers, being the others, as important as they are, still only complementary activities; that is, patients logistics, which includes things like Hospitality (hotels, resorts, spas, balnearies, etc..), Conventional tourism, mostly used by the entourage of the patient(s) not the patient.
“Enriching field trips contribute to the development of students into civilized young men and women who possess more knowledge about art, have stronger critical-thinking skills, exhibit increased historical empathy, display higher levels of tolerance, and have a greater taste for consuming art and culture,” the researchers wrote in Education Next.
The study evaluated 10,912 students and 489 teachers at 123 different American schools. Half of the participants visited the newly-opened Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Northwest Arkansas, while the other half had their trips deferred to later in the year, after researchers administered surveys to all of the students. Researchers used surveys to evaluate the students’ knowledge about art and measure their critical thinking, historical empathy, tolerance, and sustained interest in visiting art museums, Start up companies, Flag Ship Enterprises and many other places of interest.
